Group Rides
We're bringing back guided group rides! Join us most Thursday evenings at 6:15 PM for an exciting and informative group ride around the Copper Harbor Trails. Guide leader and CHTC Outreach Coordinator Nick Ryan will cook up a new journey every week, so be sure to check back here for more information to see where the group will head next. Rides will generally be in the intermediate to advanced difficulty range and are no drop. All group rides are free! Donations are appreciated to support the trails.
Group Ride # is Thursday, 10/17. We will meet back at the East Bluff for more hot laps! We’ll start our ride with a pedal-up Early Riser and a warm-up descent down the Bluejay Picnic. Then begins our first climb up the East Bluff Driveway before a descent down Thunderbolt. After arriving at the bottom, we will climb back up the East Bluff Driveway for a second descent down Loam Rider and cross onto Eh Horizon. Upon arriving at the bottom, we’ll turn around and do one more pedal up the East Bluff Driveway for a final descent down Flo Rion. This ride is about 9 miles and will take around an hour and a half to complete.
Our Final Group Ride is Thursday, 10/24. It's the last group ride of the season, and this week, we will be meeting back at the Welcome Center for one last hurrah on the Brockway side. We’ll start by taking the Hunters Point Bike Path over to Berry Picker, which we’ll climb until we reach The Flow, which we’ll take until we reach the Overflow crossing. We’ll ride down Overflow and do a quick turnaround at the bottom, head back up Berry Picker, and then take Flow to the top. From there, we'll head down On the Edge and continue our descent down Danimal. After smashing the jump line, we’ll finish the ride with one last rip down Garden Brook before taking the Copper Harbor Loop back to town. We’ll end the night by grabbing food at the Mariner and giving the season a proper celebratory send-off!
Additional details about future group rides will be shared here. It's a new thing for us after many years away and we look forward to building this up more as the summer moves along.
