Spring Cleanups

Help us prepare our trails for the coming season!

Spring is here which means it's time to clear the trails! Our 2023-24 winter season was very weak which means we'll be hosting volunteer workdays much earlier than usual if the weather continues to cooperate.  As of mid-April, there is almost no snow remaining in the Copper Harbor area.  What's out there is meager at best and mainly limited to deep valleys or shaded spots. If we get a little more warm weather it will soon be gone.  With your help we can be riding in no time!

Our next volunteer cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th at 11 AM!

Plan to meet in the park downtown.  We'll assign you a trail (or two) to tackle.  We'll mainly be hiking to reduce damage to soft trails.  If you're keen though, there are some areas that may be bikeable.  We have two chainsaw backpacks for this occasion.  If you have a chainsaw, loppers, gloves, or a leaf blower, please bring them!  Tools are always in short supply if we have a lot of people show up.  CHTC has some we can loan out, or you can join up with another person to make the work go faster.  There may also be berm work to knock out while the dirt is packy.

This is a tentative workday!  If the weather is rainy we will reschedule for Sunday, 4/21 at the same time.  Check back in to this page on Friday evening before the event just in case we need to postpone.

After the workday we will gather up at the Mariner North for some warm chili and drinks.

Additional 2024 spring volunteer workdays will be added as needed.  If you have questions, please email nathan@copperharbortrails.org.
